BOB-Occupation Server
Hello community!
The BOB server gets a further segment! The "Occupation Server": first time that it is possible to occupy airfields or areas. There can also target areas be assigned, in which a rate of destruction has to be achieved. No search for single cars, tanks or ground targets necessary.
Occupation sectors
one side will have the task to occupy a certain target sector. This may be an airfield, but also a city or bridge. This sector will be certainly strongly defended and should be cleared by bombers or fighter bombers. Then a bomber type to bring in soldiers and airborne troops.
The bomber pilot has to fly now from his base to the target sector, land there, stay for 2 minutes grounded, and return to his home base. After the 2 minutes grounding time, 10-20 soldiers (depending on plane type) will be acknowledged for the attacking side. if the necessary number of ground forces is achieved, the sector is occupied and a new map with changed conditions will be loaded.
Destruction Sectors
The defending side will have the task to stop hostile attacks and to diminish enemy ground troops supposed to invade the target sector. To achieve that, in one (or several) enemy sectors a fixed percentage of ground troops will have to be destroyed. If these targets wil be achieved prior than the attacking side has occupied the target sector, the defending side will succeed.
It may also occur that both sides will have destruction sectors only, in this case the side that achieves its destruction target(s) first will succeed.
Occupation and destruction may be also combined.
Sample tasks:
Red
Defend the air base 20 km south of Mozhaysk. The air base is lying under heavy artillery fire and it is assumed that german troops will attempt to occupy it. North of the base are located enemy forces keeping firing. Destroy these forces to 100%.
Destroy the enemy base in Vyasma to 75%.
Destroy supply convoys on the street Vyazma/Mozhaysk to 100 %.
Blue
Our troops are taking under fire the airbase 20 km south of Mozhaysk. Our Airborne troops are supposed to take that base within 12 hours. Luftwaffe has to knock out fortifications and flak positions on the base completely.
Airbone troops will be braught in by Heinkel 111 H2 starting in Vyazma. Each plane can transport 10 soldiers. 300 airborne troops have to be deployed to secure the area. Therefore 30 HE 111H2 have to be landed on the field. For unloading, each Heinkel has to rest 120 seconds grounded before beeing alowed to take off again. Our fighters have to cover the deployment flights from hostile fighters.
In short:
Destroy every opposition on the target base. 30 Heinkels He111H2 have to be landed and stay tere 120 seconds each at least.
Defend our supply road from Vyazma to close to Mozhaysk
Landing other planes then He111H2 will not help fulfilling our task. It is of no use to land the same plane repeatingly on the target base.
Playing mode:
These options will be playable in "Restricted Mode" only, as else it doesnt make sence. "Restricted Mode" means, every Login may fly for one side only. (e.g. 88.IAP_Sokol can fly red only, I/JG27_Zimmi only blue, etc.). Every virtual squadron will get wing statistics, pilot files etc automatically.
This special server will be available end of January and is perfect for squadron fights.
