Gruß, mein Bruder! I'm turning to the harsh way I'm used to when things don't work - you can forward this to Redfish and the AAA friends. When my wife asks me to bring her out for shopping, I start feeling sick, 'cause I know in advance I'll go roaming aimlessly for hours - in fact, she never tells me in advance where to go, what to do there and why, I wonder if she has an idea of it of her own. We can fix a date, meet there, and then we have neither the satisfaction to look at each other's eyes, 'cause we don't have any plan at all. I remember I offered to help building up the required stuff, but the only feedback I got was about a date to be fixed, but to do what? If you want to go somewhere, you have to know where (id est, you need a map), how to get there (id est which planes to use), and what to do there (that is a mission). Do we have any if these means? I believe not. So I don't see the reason why to fix a date, unless you think to gather just for a rough free-for-all. The plan first, then the date - if we need to sort these things out together, let's meet on MSN instead, and discuss the details, or we're destined to postpone indefinitely. Sorry for the rough attitude, but I still can't find a way to arrange CC Sunday flights and JO activities together: if I have to cut out a Sunday for a meeting with the AAA friends, I have to be excited with the idea first - but until this thing doesn't take a shape, I have nothing to be excited with. Now you're allowed to bite my skull ;D Marco

Ave Marco Bruder Mein!
what came first? The Chicken or the Egg?
I am sorry for poor communication. You are right...we need to know what we are going to do before we go there...and I wanted to get a day and then plan something for it...
So I propose: Let us make a mission. I last spoke with Redfish he told me that he enjoyed the short night missions you made which you titled Nachtjagd training mission 30 minute and longer and shorter...
Asking the AAA what they want to fly is like asking them their name... anything anytime anywhere....sort of what wives say about shopping.
I will show Redfish the post here and see if he has any idea what they want... I will do tthat...but I expect the outcome to be similar to what I wrote above.
I would like to fly the 110 at night and that is my preference...
Now someother Uhu posts his Idea... and then the next Uhu untill ONE week goes by. The we blend the ideas....( if possible) (actually Marco writes the blended mission).
and we tell the AAA what day to fight...
PLease post your comments...
Servus Fritz
we give it a week then MArco please get your imagination gown on and write up what we can muster..

Gruss die Herren !! I would like to propose a combination of "Wilde Sau" ( 190's ) and 110's, this so that the 190's can give the 110's some cover or claer their proverbial rearend in case of......................... my to pfennige

Yes, I agree, and to give the AAA mates something more to get fun with, and given that there are no Mosquitos available in PF, they could have some (historically inaccurate) fighter cover for their B-25 bombers, let's say Mustangs or Jugs, eh? If the Caen map is right for them too, I can start assembling something in the cooperative shape. ;D Marco

Ave und Gruss meine Brueder!
I think that the British home base Island is a good place to start and restart... we could have waves of bombers and escorts to hunt...

~S~ Alle
If we give them 2 or 3 bases to attack and let them choose, we will have to set up patrols, if it is a dog mission that is.
A-20's are hide and sneak machines which will make them hard to spot at low level and should make for an interesting mission. What sort of weather are we having?

Gruß Alle! Does this situation fit our needs? AAA's would get the British Island base and another one at the extreme upper left corner, possibly to place there escort fighters to catch up their bombers. We would get seven bases (maybe too many?) as available targets. We can move the boundaries to allow more airfields to be by the allied side, like Saint Paul in planquadrat D3, but it would be cut out of the action, or even Caen (H7), but that would be giving up to our main base apart from Le Havre, so maybe AAA's should tell their opinion on this. Another thing that must be stated at this stage is if we want a dogfight or a cooperative mission. In the first case, players have to choose their base (and as a consequence their side), then select their plane and run the mission - once killed, you can ask permission to respawn and there are no limits on this side. In a cooperative mission, instead, you're given a list of slots inside the formations foreseen by the mission, both axis and allied, and once selected your own, you're automatically placed on the assigned airfield, ready to take off. Once dead, you're out: you can just stay in the game and look at things as they happen. Advantage: you can choose to be the rear gunner in a Bf-110, or the bomb aimer in a B-25... cool! As for the A-20: it's the only alternative to the B-25, as far as I know, and that's on the AAA mates to select their favourite - if we decide to assemble a Cooperative mission, I need to know the planes of choice in advance, 'cause it's not possible to change them during the game. What follows is a post from cfsip! {Sorry, i have been real busy last week or so, but I did manage to zip up a lot of PF missions I have done over the last 9 months or so.... and I have tons of ideas for many more lol! like Mars said we have been trying to tweak the night missions in a lot of different ways, and sometimes they work like expected and sometimes not! Here is a link with several missions, the night missions are mainly the newest ones. Some are still in process of being tweaked out and may not have a description but try them anyways and let us know what you think. www.cfsipgames.com/~leadsled/mission.zip I know I am way behind on updating the AAA site, but have plans to get that up to speed real soon! (lol) I also have some old missions that we used to fly in the original IL2, one is a night mission with IL2s and lots of action! I hope to resurrect some of these old ones and tweak them with the newer planesets and objects. Most of these missions can run 30mins to an hour depending on how they play out, most flight times are between 5-10 minutes till you get to where the action is, some are longer, but usually most downed pilots don't have to sit out for extended times. This zip has like 25 missions (yikes i had no idea!), many different kinds, so kick the tires, flip the magnetos, and crank em up, then give a spin and tell us what you think! Happy Hunting! I will post this link over at the Uhu site as well!} Hope yall dont take this at intruding! The mission you have setup above looks fine, as far as bombers go, A20s would do just nicely! Yall shouldnt feel pressured in any way, in fact this doesn't even have to be a formal competition or anything like that! Lets just pick some times to fly and we can even play on same side! However yall want to work it. Hope to see yall soon! Oh yeah, my msn is leadsled24@yahoo.com _________________ "Fighter Pilots make movies, Bomber Pilots make HISTORY!!!!!!"

Still have probs with some folks connections, system locks up and bad "ju-ju" results.

S! Alle... a Saturday souinds fine...
I would need to know several weeks ahead of time...
Ddave has made us a night fighter intercept mission. 2 of them actually. I post his quote here.
Two scenarios here......ground start puts Axis night fighters on the bomber formation right after the bomb drop. Air start has the two groups clash over the coast and it's a running fight all the way to the target. Both are pretty fun. Hope you like it. Dd
Fo r those of you whou have gotten the JO Pilot Ground School out of the way for IL2...there is a CTE this weekend.. we can fly together in that. If only to just see each other again.

I got the heads up from Psycho. Was wondering if there would be a practice run this Saturday like last time?
Looking forward to it, especially now my game doesn't crash anymore! ;D
